Did you know that approximately 70% of pet injuries occur at home?
Nowadays, with pets becoming increasingly common, dogs and cats have become a more familiar part of our lives. Pets are not viewed simply as pets, but as part of the family, and are treated more and more like people.
Dogs are popular pets, but these days it is rare to keep them outside, with most dogs living indoors.
More than ever, dogs live with us as members of the family. Yet, houses built for humans are not always comfortable for them to live in.
We launched “inutomo” with the hope that dogs, too, can live healthy lives just like humans.
Here at GOOD LIFE, we draw on our extensive experience and proven track record in floor coating to provide DOG LIFE COAT—a part of the inutomo lineup meant to ensure a safe indoor environment for dogs.
The flooring commonly used in homes is easy to maintain and comfortable for humans, but that is not necessarily the case for dogs. The smooth surface makes it easy for them to slip. And bracing themselves to walk also brings with it the real risk of slipping and getting injured.
In fact, about 70% of dog injuries occur in the home. When out on walks, dogs are kept on leashes, which helps prevent them from doing anything dangerous. Indoors, however, they are unleashed and free to move as they please. When left home alone, they usually spend their time quietly napping, but the moment their owners are around, it’s all about playtime, and they can be very insistent! The most common injury or accident that occurs indoors is the swallowing of foreign objects. However, when you count the total number of incidents caused by running around indoors—such as dislocations, fractures, slipped discs, and ligament injuries/tears—these actually surpass ingestion as the leading cause of indoor injuries.
What is DOG LIFE COAT?
● DOG LIFE COAT is a floor coating developed exclusively for dog owners, designed first and foremost to reduce the strain on your pet’s legs and joints.

DOG LIFE COAT – Features
■ Dogs won’t slip
■ Resistant to scratches from nails
■ Easy to clean and accident-resistant
■ Safe even when licked
Dogs won’t slip
DOG LIFE COAT is a floor coating designed first and foremost to reduce the strain on your pet’s legs and joints, protecting them from injuries and stress while living indoors. It is specialized for slip resistance, so that your dog can run around indoors without losing their footing and straining their body.
Resistant to scratches from nails
DOG LIFE COAT is scratch-resistant, meaning you do not have to give up on keeping your floors nice and clean, even when living with your dog. Whether your dog is sprinting around indoors or leaping off sofas and dining chairs, DOG LIFE COAT protects your floors from getting scratched up by their nails.
Easy to clean and accident-resistant
DOG LIFE COAT forms a film over the floor that prevents moisture from seeping in. This prevents urine from seeping in even when your dog does have an accident on the floor. The surface of the film does not wear down or peel even when cleaned with alcohol or chlorine-based products like bleach, making everyday cleaning quick and effortless.
Safe even when licked
Unlike wax, DOG LIFE COAT does not dissolve or break down even if your pet licks the floor, allowing you to keep them indoors safely. It is also safe if they happen to lick the floor while eating food spilled from their bowl.
Safety certification by a third-party organization
“CSR-D’ (Coefficient of Slip Resistance-Dog)” is a scientific index used to evaluate floor safety for small dogs, by quantifying the slip-resistance of floors. The higher the number, the less slippery the surface, indicating that it is an environment where small dogs can move around safely. For dog breeds prone to weak legs or hips, the slip resistance of floors is a key factor in creating a safe and comfortable living environment.
This index is measured under realistic conditions using a sliding strip made of a foamed rubber sheet that mimics the softness of a paw, and is covered with linen fabric. Studies have shown that 99.9% of small dogs are able to move around without difficulty when the C.S.R-D value is 0.676 or higher.
Our DOG LIFE COAT PREMIUM has achieved the excellent C.S.R-D value of 0.670. It is thus slip-resistant enough to be comfortable for almost 99.9% of small dogs. According to our research, no other oil-based floor coating on the market exceeds this value, meaning it provides one of the highest levels of slip resistance in the industry.
DOG LIFE COAT, backed as it is by scientific research, is the perfect choice for households with pets, in order to protect their health and safety.

Voices From Customers

I’m glad our dog can play safely indoors
on days when we can’t go out for a walk
Before, when we couldn’t go out on a walk because it was raining or for some other reason, our dog would still have energy left over at night and refuse to sleep, and would sometimes run around or chew on the furniture.
Now that we’ve gotten DOG LIFE COAT on our floors, we don’t have to worry anymore about our dog slipping on the floor when playing indoors (such as when playing tug-of-war with toys), and they can play tug-of-war as much as they want—free from stress and getting plenty of exercise. This has let them sleep soundly at night.

No longer have to worry about scratches
even with two energetic Frenchies
We have two very energetic brindle French Bulldogs, aged two and three, who are always wrestling and racing around the house.
It’s been two years since we got the coating, and amazingly, there are barely any noticeable scratches!
I wish we’d known about this sooner, because in my previous pet-friendly rental, we struggled with scratches and urine stains and it was such a hassle when we moved out.
We also like that the finish is more subdued than typical pet coatings like UV coating and silicone coating that are high-gloss.

Made the decision after
visiting the showroom with our dog
We bought a condo a few years ago, and used floor mats to protect the floors, but between accidents and scratches from our dog’s nails, replacing the floor mats regularly became costly and time-consuming. So we started looking to see if there was anything we could do. Then, we heard that a showroom in Machida had opened where you could actually try floor coatings for pets, so we went with our whole family, including our dog, to check it out. Our dog, being in a new place, was very curious and explored every corner, sniffing around and inspecting the edges of the room. While we were listening to the explanation about the coatings’ features, our dog started to get used to the showroom and began playing with the toys we’d brought along. When we tried our usual game of fetch, we were amazed by how different it was from home—specifically, the way they were able to stop without slipping! We tried fetch a couple more times after that, and could really tell the difference in grip when they stopped. It just looked like there was less strain on their body, and that’s what convinced us to go for it. Because we’d already moved in, they conducted an on-site inspection first, and we went ahead with the installation once they confirmed it was possible. For anyone considering it, I highly recommend visiting the showroom with your dog!
