The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is an institution that establishes international industrial standards, with 147 member countries (over 75% of United Nations member states) currently. Among its many standards, the ISO 9001, known as the quality management system standard, establishes internationally recognized requirements for quality assurance. Here, “quality” does not refer to the quality of the delivered products, but rather to the quality of the company itself—specifically, whether the company has a system capable of ensuring consistent quality assurance.
In other words, to obtain ISO 9001 certification is to be recognized as a company that maintains world-class quality standards. To achieve ISO 9001 certification, companies must undergo an evaluation. The following are examples of evaluation items. To be certified, a company must establish and operate internal standards (manuals) that meet all of these requirements without exception. GOOD LIFE has obtained ISO 9001 certification for our Head Office, Sales Division, and showrooms in Yokohama, Machida, Osaka, and Fukuoka.

GOOD LIFE has obtained a construction license to demonstrate our capability to deliver reliable quality and workmanship. Many companies engage in floor coating work without a construction license. We, however, chose to pursue official certification because of the growing number of contractors in recent years whose inadequate technical skills or ethics have led to substandard installation and poor-quality results. We strive to be a sound, dependable, and attractive coating company—one that provides customers with even greater peace of mind as their partner in comfortable living.

Obtaining a construction license requires meeting a specific set of criteria. It also requires the submission of various supporting documents to verify that the company meets these requirements.

・Presence of person responsible for management and operation
The company must have at least one full-time executive or sole proprietor who has a minimum of five years of experience, either as an executive of a company engaged in the construction business or as a sole proprietor in the construction industry.

・Presence of full-time engineer in each office
Each office must employ at least one full-time engineer who meets the qualification requirements established by the national government.

・Reliability
The company must not be at risk of engaging in dishonest or improper conduct in the course of its construction operations.

・Having a financial foundation
The company must have the financial capacity to procure at least 5 million yen in funds.
